Strap Replacement Guide For Girard Perregaux Laureato

How to Replace the Strap on a Girard Perregaux Laureato

Replacing the original bracelet on a Girard Perregaux Laureato is not quite the same as changing a standard spring-bar watch strap. The Laureato uses a screw-based connection, so removing the original bracelet and installing a replacement strap requires careful alignment and the correct tools.

If you are looking for a Girard Perregaux Laureato strap replacement, this guide will show you how to remove the original steel bracelet and install a custom replacement strap step by step.

We will also explain the difference between our custom Laureato leather strap with a metal adapter and our integrated-style leather strap without a separate metal end link, so you can choose the construction that best matches the look you want.

Here are the main Laureato configurations covered by our custom straps:

What You Need for Replace the Strap for Girard Perregaux Laureato

Before starting, prepare the following:

A suitable flat-head screwdriver
The fixing base
A small container for storing the original screws
Fine-tip pliers, if needed

The flat-head screwdriver is not included with the strap accessories.

Because the screws used for the Laureato strap connection are relatively fine, make sure the screwdriver fits the slot correctly before turning it. A screwdriver that is too small or too large may slip and damage the screw.Since the screw surface is smooth and glossy, it is prone to scratches.

1: Open the Original Girard Perregaux Laureato Bracelet And Remove the Side Screw

Girard Perregaux Laureato Strap Replacement Guide

Open the original bracelet clasp. And then look at both sides of the watch case. You will find the screw openings that secure the bracelet to the case.

On one side, you can clearly see the flat-head screw slot.

Insert the screwdriver straight into the slot and carefully loosen the screw.

Keep the screwdriver aligned with the screw while turning. Do not tilt the screwdriver, as this can cause it to slip out of the slot.

Important: The flat-head screwdriver is not included with the replacement strap accessories.

Once the screw has been loosened, you can carefully remove it. If the screw is difficult to pull out by hand, fine-tip pliers can be used carefully to remove it.

After the screw is removed, the bracelet can be separated from the watch case.

Repeat the same process on the other side.

Pro Tips

We recommend keeping the original screws in a small storage box or zip bag.

If you may want to reinstall the original bracelet in the future, label the container and keep the screws together with the original bracelet.

These small parts are easy to lose, so it is better to store them immediately after removal.

2.Prepare the Replacement Girard Perregaux Laureato Strap

Now you can begin installing the replacement strap. For a two-piece strap, the short strap is installed at the 12 o’clock position, while the longer strap is installed at the 6 o’clock position.

The strap should sit naturally against the case before you insert the replacement screw.

3.Insert the Replacement Screw

Once the strap is correctly positioned, insert the supplied screw from one side.

The screw should pass straight through the strap connection and line up with the threaded section on the opposite side.

Do not force the screw if it does not enter smoothly.

Instead, slightly adjust the strap position until the holes are properly

4.Use the Fixing Base

The fixing base is particularly useful during installation. When tightening the screw, one side needs to remain firmly supported while you turn the other side.

Place the fixing base securely on a stable table.

Insert the supplied flat-head screwdriver into the corresponding screw slot and use the fixing base to hold the opposite side in position.

Without a fixing base, it can be more difficult to keep the screw stable and properly aligned.

5.Tighten the Screw Carefully

Place the screw cap into the corresponding opening.Make sure the screwdriver is perfectly vertical.

Once everything is aligned, slowly turn the screwdriver.

As you tighten the screw, make sure the strap remains correctly positioned against the case.

Do Not Over-Tighten the Screw

This is one of the most important points during a Girard Perregaux strap replacement.

The screw shaft and internal threading are relatively fine. If the screw becomes difficult to turn, do not simply apply more force.

Excessive force may:

Damage the screw slot
Strip the internal threads
Break the fine screw shaft
Make future removal difficult

When the screw reaches the correct position and you feel resistance, stop tightening.

The goal is to secure the strap firmly, not to force the screw as tight as possible.

6.Install the Longer Strap

The longer strap is installed using the same method.
Position the longer strap at the 6 o’clock side of the watch.

The strap installation is now completed

Check the Strap Before Wearing Your Watch

Before wearing the watch, carefully inspect both strap connections.

Make sure:

The screws are properly seated.
The strap is aligned with the case.
There is no abnormal gap between the strap and case.
The strap moves smoothly.
Neither side feels loose.
We do not recommend trying to put the watch on while standing over a hard floor. If the watch slips from your hand, it could be damaged.

Once the watch is secure, feed the strap through the clasp and adjust it to your preferred fit.

Custom Leather Strap For Girard Perregaux Laureato Options

If you want to replace the original steel bracelet with a more luxurious and personalized option, we offer custom Girard  leather straps for Perregaux Laureato designed around the Laureato case connection.

There are two main constructions available.

1. Laureato Leather Strap With Metal Adapter

Our first option is a custom leather strap with a metal adapter/end link.

The adapter is designed to create a clean transition between the leather strap and the Laureato case.

This construction is suitable for customers who want the strap to visually follow the integrated appearance of the original bracelet.

The metal adapter helps create a structured connection between the strap and case while giving the watch a more finished appearance.

This option is ideal if you want:
A metal end-link appearance
A clean case-to-strap transition
A more integrated look
A combination of leather and metal

3.Integrated-Style Laureato Strap Without a Metal Adapter

Some customers prefer a cleaner appearance without a separate metal end link.

For these customers, we can also make an integrated-style custom leather strap without a separate metal adapter.

In this version, there is no separate metal end link between the leather and the watch case.

Instead, the strap itself is specially shaped to create the transition toward the Laureato case.

Important Difference

This version does not include a separate metal adapter/end link.

If you specifically want the metal end-link appearance, choose the adapter version instead.

The two constructions provide different visual effects, so your choice mainly depends on the appearance you prefer.

Why Choose a Custom Girard Perregaux Laureato Strap?

Replacing the original bracelet is not only about changing the material.

The connection between the strap and case is equally important.

A standard leather watch strap may not provide the correct shape or case transition for an integrated sports watch such as the Laureato.

A properly designed Girard Perregaux watch strap should take the watch case shape and connection into consideration.

Our custom options allow you to change the original steel bracelet to a personalized leather design while maintaining a clean transition between the strap and case.
